QUNUT-i-NAZILA Whenever, God forbid, the Muslims are faced with critical situation and the menace and terror of the enemy has overcome them, they should recite Qunut-i-Nazila during prayers, especially in the coures of the dawn prayer. After the second Rakah of the morning prayers, recite the following prayers in the standing posture before performing the prostration. Traditions reveal that this prayer was recited during worship by the Holy Prophet ( peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) and his illustrious companions (God be pleased with them) at critical times, they offered this prayer especially during morning worship:
Allahummahdina fiman hadita wa afina fiman 'afaita
wa tawallana fiman tawallaita wa barik lana fima a'ataita wa qina
sharra ma qadaita fa-innaka taqdi wa la yuqda alaika innahu la yadhillu
man walaita wa la ya-izzu man adaita tabarakta rabbana wa ta'alaita
nastaghfiruka wa natubu ilaika, Allahumma 'adhdhib-ilkafaratal-ladhina
yasudduna 'ansabilika wa yukadhdhibuna rusulaka wa yuqatiluna aulia'aka,
Allahummaghfir lil-mo'mininna wal-mo'minat, wal-muslimina wal-muslimat,
wa aslih dhata bainihim wal-hikmata wa thabbithum 'ala millati rasulika
sallal-lahu 'alahi wa sallam wa auzi, hum an yufu bi'ahdika-al-ladhi
'ahadtahum 'alaihi wansurhum 'ala 'adywwaika wa 'aduwwihim ilah-al-hiqqi
waj'alana minhum.
